How I Pack for Two Weeks Using Only a Carry On Bag

I'm sure you've heard about the mess at the airports this summer with TONS of lost luggage. Maybe you went through such a nightmare yourself. If so, I am so sorry. :(

This is why I've become more and more convinced that using a carry on bag is the ONLY way to go, especially now. (No, this is not a commercial.)

Last May, I traveled 18 days in France with only a carry on bag. And when I got home I found some clothes I had never even worn! Ridiculous.

Next Saturday, our Walkabout Cotswolds group with meet in London, and I've asked each of the women to bring only a carry on suitcase. As you can imagine, this is a bit of a challenge for some. (Even me!) But there are two reasons I had to ask this of my travelers:

1. For the reason mentioned above. I would hate to have anyone lose their luggage for a one-week trip. They might not get it back until near the end of the trip, if at all, and there's nothing more trip-ruining than losing your luggage.

2. We will be traveling in a van with a driver for most of the week, and the van just doesn't have room for seven large suitcases. Our driver was very explicit that he can only accommodate smaller bags.

So there you have it!

Some of the women on our trip requested I do a video for them, explaining how I pack everything for two weeks (I'm staying a little longer than most--research for next year!!!) in a carry-on, and I thought I'd share it with you.

Listen, it's not professional--I just filmed with my iPhone in my office--but I think I've given you some helpful tips on how I pack for two weeks, especially how to properly fill a packing cube. So, if you're taking a trip and wonder how to get it all in, take a look and let me know what you think in the comments.
